aMSN is an open-code, multi-platform instant messaging client (under the GPL licence) that uses the MSN protocol to connect to the MSN Messenger network.
aMSN is designed to be a free alternative to the popular messaging client from Microsoft, Windows Live Messenger, so it shares many of the features of that program as well as incorporating new ones.
aMSN lets you use skins to completely change the program’s look. You can access a long list of skins on the Internet or learn how to create your own skins.
aMSN has no restrictions of any kind and it totally configurable. It lets you connect to several e-mail accounts simultaneously and doesn’t limit how many nudges you can send, among other features.
aMSN gives you customisation levels that are so high that even the nudges can be changed quickly and easily, without needing any knowledge of programming. It also lets you develop and use plugins to add new functions and innovative features.
aMSN is totally compatible (using the aMSN Plus! Plugin) with the Windows Live Messenger Plus! Extension. aMSN is light and easy and uses many fewer resources than many other IM clients available today.
