Yahoo! Widget Engine is a tool to manage the small desktop applications or “widgets”.
“Widgets” were developed with the idea of decorating the Windows desktop and at the same time, adding new functions to it. The part Windows and at the same time, add new functions to it. The decorative part comes in because it is about applications with a nice visual environment and some of the new functions are: a calendar, a clock, a viewer for the weather forecast, a reader of the computer resource use, a POP3 client and many others.
Yahoo! Widget Engine is the platform over which these small applications are run.
With Yahoo! Widget Engine we can decorate the Windows desktop and at the same time add new and interesting functionalities.
