Rome: Total War is a battle video game set during the reign of the Roman empire. This is a game that tests a player’s strategy and tactical skills. It employs an integrated turn-based and real-time approach. This is a single-player and multi-player game, with players having the ability to choose a role as the head of one of the three greatest Roman factions at the time: the Julii, Brutii and the Scipii. These Roman houses have a specific set of objectives and attributes. Rome: Total War allows the player to set-up their character’s moves during their turn. The real-time game module makes gameplay more realistic because it takes into account combat maneuvers, flanking movements, and the direction where the armies are facing in combat. The game has both tactical and strategic features. This simply means that players will view the same battlefield landscape in both strategic and in real-time, tactical mode. Rome: Total War is truly a very engaging and realistic war-based game software.
